School Counseling

Andrew Jackson Elementary School provides a comprehensive guidance program that supports the development and well-being of all students. Our school employs a full-time guidance counselor, Becky Cheplick, to help in meeting the academic, emotional and social needs of our students. Students have access to individual counseling, small group counseling and monthly classroom guidance and life skills instruction. Each student has access to an adult mentor or counselor to help guide them when problems or issues arise. Classroom guidance, guest presenters, career programs, special projects and units of instruction on these areas are held throughout the school year across all grade-levels.

The school also works closely with parents and takes referral information from them when the need arises. The school also hosts several family nights throughout the school year where parents can take an active role in learning about the developmental needs of their children.
